How should you promote your music?

Have you felt the pressure getting to you? Wondering how to promote your music and actually get heard? How about the countless number of sites telling you to purchase plays or followers for Spotify? I have news for you - that isn’t the way. It’s 2022 and it and it has getting increasingly hard to get heard in this saturated market. Sure, there are some organic opportunities to reach new fans but it isn’t easy. In this article I’ll go over the easy steps to market yourself as an artists with guaranteed results.

Step 1: Make Real Connections

With social media its easy to reach more people than ever before. Use your preferred platform and reach out to other artists in your genre. Giving genuine support to someone else is the first way to establish an alliance with someone. Simply posting that your new single is out and hoping the universe reciprocates some type of love will NEVER be the way. You have to give love to get love back. It will take work and you will need to be consistent to make this concept work.

Step 2: Reach out to Bloggers/Playlisters

This may be a daunting task but it can actually be successful if you do it right. The copy and paste emails never work and bloggers (such as the Vision and Vibes :D) will happily move that email to the trash once it hits the inbox. Personally, I don’t think email is the way to go. Hit the DMs, make a thoughtful comment. Show that you’ve actually listened to the playlist and explain why you think your track is a good fit. This is the way.

Step 3: Invest

Lastly, you’ll have to invest in your music and craft to get genuine results. There are several platforms that exist today (PlaylistPush, SubmitHub to name a few) that offer a slew of playlisters and bloggers that can showcase your music. You’re not going to get a new following if all your doing is posting on IG, Twitter and Facebook and thinking people will flock to your music. You may have to put up some good money to get your music out there.

Hopefully you learned something valuable. Be sure to check out our own services here as well.
